This 1983 Jeep CJ-7 is a really nice, clean CJ that spent most of its life in Texas before spending the last few years in Colorado. This Jeep has had a lot of nice upgrades done to it and it is ready to enjoy. The body is clean and solid. The jeep was repainted at some point in its original color of Sebring Red and the paint is still in excellent condition. It has a factory front bumper with an aftermarket winch mount with an 8,000 pound Ramsey winch installed. It has an aftermarket rear bumper with a built in receiver and a swing away tire carrier with a full size spare. It also has a hi-lift jack mount with a hi-lift jack mounted. The jeep also has a nice aftermarket hard top with hard doors. The underside of this CJ is super clean and we found no rust issues with this Jeep.
The interior is really nice. The seat have all been reupholstered in marine vinyl. Original dash is in good condition and it has a factory roll bar. It has a locking aftermarket center console, a locking rear storage box, and the glove box also locks. Some other cool features include an on board air system and CB Radio. The headlights, taillights, brake lights, and turn signals are all working. The gauges all work. The horn, windshield wipers, and heat also work.
Mechanically this Jeep is excellent and it runs and drives great. The engine is the 4.2L 258 Inline 6 that runs excellent with no issues or red flags that we found. These are great engines that last a long time. They added an Offenhauser aluminum intake and a Holley 4 Barrel carb for a little more get up an go. At that time they also added a stainless steel header and full stainless exhaust. The transmission is the T4 manual that shifts nice with a good clutch. It is mated to the Dana 20 transfer case and the 4WD works like it should. The rear axle is the AMC 20 with 4.10 gears and a limited slip. The front axle is a Dana 30 with 4.10 gears. The Jeep has a spring over axle lift that gives it a great ride and they replaced the front and rear driveshafts at that time. This is all sitting ona nice set of black aftermarket steel wheels with 33 Inch BFG Mud Terrain Tires.
