ALL STEEL 1986 JEEP CJ-7 LAREDO FROM CALIFORNIA. REBUILT ENGINE!
Complete Pictures (including undercarriage) and Video at www.4-wheelclassics.com
This 1986 Jeep CJ-7 Laredo is a very cool all steel Jeep that spent its life in California. The last owner spent a lot of money on this CJ to make it a reliable rig and we have over $15,000 in receipts. We believe it is an original Laredo based on the options like chrome grille, aluminum side moldings, leather wrapped steering wheel, and leather wrapped grab handles. The body is very clean and straight. It has an old repaint in its original color of Charcoal Metallic. The paint has faded and shows patina from over the years, but you can see it is a nice original all steel body. It has an aftermarket rear bumper with a swing out tire carrier with a full size spare. It also has an aftermarket front bumper with a warm Powerplant 9500 winch with built in air compressor. It has a factory hard top and hard doors and a factory roll bar too.
The interior is also really nice with a new set of Corbeau Bucket seats up front (very Comfortable) with 4 point harness. The rear bar for the 4 point harness unbolts easily if you prefer to just use lap belts. The rear seat is factory and in great condition. It has new carpet and floor mats and it has a locking center console. The dash is really nice with new knobs. The headlights, taillights, brakelights, and turn signals are all working. The gauges all work except for the Tach because of the added fuel injection. The windshield wipers, horn, and heat all work and the radio is also working.
Mechanically this Jeep is excellent!! It runs and drives great!! The engine is a Reman 4.2L (258) inline 6 purchase from S & J engines and we have the receipt. The engine and transmission have just over 8,000 miles on them. They added a Howell Fuel Injection kit when the engine was installed. The engine rubs excellent. They also put in a new radiator, new water pump, new starter, and new alternator at that time. The transmission is the T5 Manual that was rebuilt when the engine was installed and we have the receipt. They also installed a new clutch at that time. It has a Dana 300 transfer case with a twin stick shifter. The 4WD works like it should. It has a Dana 44 rear axle with 3.54 gears and a Dana 30 front axle with 3.54 gears. The lift is a 4 inch all spring lift with shackle reversal. It has upgraded HD shackles, stainless brake hoses, and they added HD steering. This is all sitting on on Mickey Thompson Aluminum Wheels (including the spare) with 33 Inch BFG Mud Terrain tires.
