WIDE-TRAC 1982 JEEP CHEROKEE LAREDO. LS SWAPPED!!

This 1982 Jeep Cherokee Laredo Wide-Trac is one sweet rig. It is an Oklahoma and Texas Jeep and the the 2nd Owner actually took this rig out of long term storage and had the work done to it that you are going to read about. The work was completed in the last year and he only put around 200 miles on it since completed. This Laredo was built to be a powerful and reliable cruiser, but the exterior was left original and shows that cool patina look. This was not a total frame-off restored truck, but it is pretty close as all of the mechanical components were gone through and interior was redone. He did not spare any expense on this build and this truck is a blast to drive. It is fast!!!

The body on this Jeep is in excellent shape. It retains most of its original paint of Copper Brown Metallic. The steel fender flares were redone to match the rest of the patina because they were showing a lot of road rash. The body is really clean and straight and looks really cool. The underside of this vehicle is amazingly clean (see pics). We see no evidence of rust or rust repair anywhere on this rig and it still has original primer on the undercarriage. The body has some unique pinstriping on it....unsure if this is a factory deal, but it has clearly been on for a long time. It could have been added at the dealer. The interior has been totally restored and is in excellent condition!! It has new original style seats, custom door panels, new headliner, new recovered dash, custom center console, aftermarket Dakota Digital Dash, new carpet, new steering wheel, and I think you get the idea. It has Vintage Air and heat which work great and an awesome stereo system with a built in sub-woofer in the back. The interior was also Dyna-Matted for a quiet ride. Really nicely done.

Now to the fun part of this rig. This thing is amazing and a lot of time and money was spent on the drivetrain. Everything was well thought out and it shows. The engine is from a 2017 GM and it is a 5.3L LS V8. It has the PSI engine harness and computer. This was a low mile takeout engine that had around 30,000 miles on it and it came out of a Silverado pickup. It is basically a stock engine with the exception of a tune, cold air intake, and dual exhaust. This rig does have power steering, power brakes, and AC. They added an Aluminum Radiator with dual electric fans, all new wiring harness, and the engine compartment is clean and show worthy. The Automatic Transmission is the mate to the engine and they used the Jeep NP229 Transfer Case. Everything is matched up perfectly and it shows when you drive this beast. The fuel system was completely redone with new fuel pump, new gas tank, and new skid plate. Power Front Disc Brakes in front. Rear Axle is an AMC Model 20 that was gone through when restored. It has 3.31 Gears. Front Axle is a DANA 44 which was also gone through when restored. This Jeep sits on a 3 Inch Lift and has new general Grabber 33 Inch tires on Vintage Style Turbine Wheels. This is an awesome Jeep that someone put a lot of time and money into and it was done professionally. It will definitely put a smile on your face.
