1955 WILLYS WAGON. COOL OLD ARIZONA SURVIVOR WITH GREAT STORY!!

Complete Pictures (including undercarriage) and Video at www.4-wheelclassics.com

This 1955 Willys Wagon is a really cool find. This is an Arizona vehicle with a really unique story. It was purchased new in 1955 by Ronald Quinn who used the vehicle to hunt for gold in the Southwest. He used this Willys as his exploration vehicle visiting the locals trying locate the buried treasure. he wrote all about it in the included book "Searching for Arizona's Buried Treasure" where he details his exploits and mentions this vehicle. He actually did find a Spanish Hoard of gold in 1984 when he struck it rich. This is a really neat vehicle and it still runs and drives unbelievably well! You can tell this was a lifelong Arizona vehicle because the body is really clean. It was repainted and there is quite a bit of Patina, but is just really neat the way it is. The rear tailgate has some pin pricks coming through where the metal is thin but is is solid overall. It was repainted blue and that was done a long time ago from what we can tell. It appears this truck may have been red originally. The original chrome is in surprisingly good condition for its age. The interior has been partially restored including the seats recovered, custom door panels, rubber floor mat, and the wood in the rear was refinished at some point. Very neat Utilitarian Style interior. The lights, blinkers, tail lights, and brake lights work. The horn and speedo are not working and the fuel gauge is also not reading.

Mechanically this Willys runs and drives really great. The original 226 Inline 6 Cylinder Super Hurricane Engine runs great and starts easy. We found no red flags. The transmission is the 3 Speed Manual T-90 Borg Warner and it also has an OD. It is mated to the Dana T18 Transfer Case and the 4WD works like it should. It has a Dana 44 Rear Axle and Dana 25 Front Axle. They both have 4.88 Gears. It recently had Rancho Shocks and BFG Rugged Trail Tires installed. You can have fun driving this the way it is or drive it and fix the minor items mentioned when you please. We drive what we sell so that we can give you a first hand and accurate report on how the vehicle runs and drives. Our pictures are never touched up or photoshopped. What you see is an accurate representation of the vehicle. We take consistent pictures and show you everything so you can get a true representation of the vehicle.
